This page provides our policies and procedures for collecting, using and disclosing your information collected by Clapup web services (the “Services”), including the services made available through this web site, or any applications accessible on any of our subdomains or any other software or services offered by Clapup in connection with such services (the “Services”) that includes web-applications, background task management applications, worker applications, documentation portals, knowledgebases, blogs etc.

At clapup, one of our main priorities is the privacy of our visitors. This Privacy Policy document contains types of information that is collected and recorded by clapup and how we store it, process it and use it. By continuing to use this site, you accept this privacy policy in full. Information we collect

The personal information that you are asked to provide, and the reasons why you are asked to provide it, will be made clear to you at the point we ask you to provide your personal information. These include information that we collect when you create an account with any of our service, or when you browse our website or when you have direct conversation through telephone, or via live chat, or via email, social media interaction, or through any business event that we participate together .

Direct Communication: We may collect feedback, survey, chat transcript, or any form of data that we need for improving customer support, and training.

Usage Information: We also collect and analyze certain information while you visit any of our sites or services, this include your user agent, IP addresses, date and time of visit etc.

Account Registration: We may ask additional information and verify your identity when you register an account with us. Your service will be active only after proper verification to make sure that any of our services are not abused.

Public Data available: Any information publicly posted about our customers by Reviewers may be collected. This information may include name, location, service obtained, product purchased, health information, financial information, gender, religion, race or ethnicity, sexual orientation or identity, or any other information Reviewers choose to post publicly.

Users can always refuse to supply personally identification information, except that it may prevent them from engaging in certain Site related activities and using some of our application services.

How does this application access, use, store, or share user data?

We collect following information from Google, once we successfully completes the OAuth2.

  • User Name
  • Profile Picture
  • User ID
  • Email
  • Google Reviews
  • Google Question and Answers

From Facebook We collect following details. 

  • Email 
  • User ID
  • Display Name
  • Comments 
  • Mentions
  • Tagged Posts

These are accessed via OAuth2 login. These are stored in an unencrypted database. We have JWT authentication implemented for secure communication between our server and client.

These are used only: to be re-displayed to the user, to reply to reviews and questions sent by the users, and as identification for granting access to additional features of the application. None of this data is shared with anyone.

Reviews that we fetched from the Google Business profile API’s will be stored in our system. These reviews are frequently updated by a background worker service to make sure that Users get updated reviews.

How we use your information

Clapup use information that stated in the above section for improving our products and services, enhance our customer experience, and to constantly bring the features that are important for our users. 

For the customers that subscribed to our review management feature, We will collect the publicly available review data from the sites that we integrate. This data will be stored and used for managing, visualizing and analyzing such review data.

We also use such information to protect our services, ourselves, and people who are engaged with us in any sort. Your acceptance of our Terms and Conditions and this Privacy Policy will be deemed as your consent to the processing  your data for all purposes detailed herein. We use the information we collect in various ways, including to:

  • Provide, operate, maintain, and constantly improve our website, applications, and services.
  • Improve, personalize, and expand our website, applications, and services.
  • Understand and analyze how you use our services, applications and websites.
  • Develop new products, services, features, and functionalities based on your inputs.
  • Communicate with you, either directly including for customer service, to provide you with updates and other information relating to the website, and for marketing and promotional purposes
  • Send you emails, If at any time the User would like to unsubscribe from receiving future emails, we include detailed unsubscribe instructions at the bottom of each email.
  • Find and prevent fraud and service abuses that can harm our business reputation.
  • To improve our customer support – Your information helps us to more effectively respond to your customer service requests and support needs.
  • To process transactions- We may use the information Users provide about themselves when they place an order, only to provide service to that order. We do not share this information with outside parties except to the extent necessary to provide the service.
  • To store, visualize, manage, and analyze such publicly available review data, social media comments, mentions etc.  

For Reviewers

  • If you had reviewed any of our customers business or service, and if that customer us using our review management solution, We will use your personal information to respond to reviews through our system. This information are not shared with any third-party.
  • We have many feature and one of such feature is to collect feedback from users, if any of our customers are subscribed to that feature, upon their request our system will be sending request to submit feedback to their business and services on their behalf with their consent.

Data Storage Location

We use multiple service providers for storing, delivering, and replicating your data to make sure that its resilient in case of any destruction to one of the device that we stored.  Our primary storage location is EU region (Germany) and we have also secondary location in APAC as a backup in case of any data outage to our primary location.
Privacy law may vary with jurisdiction, and countries. But we and our partners are  committed to take every step for protecting our customers data according to this privacy policy, contractual terms that we agree upon, and global industry standards regardless of jurisdiction that have lesser regulation for data privacy.

How we protect your information?

We use appropriate tools and technologies to make sure that your data is stored, and processed without any sort of potential vulnerabilities that can provide un authorized access to any outsiders.

Secure Socket layer: All data are transported with a SSL secured communication channel and is encrypted and protected with digital signatures.

JSON Web Tokens (JWT): Communication and data transfer between our API and front end applications happens only after successful authentication using JWT tokens.

Secret Key based authentication: We also have an additional layer of protection in the form of API keys.

CORS headers: We set CORS headers for making sure that only allowed domains are used for transferring data.

We also constantly monitor our infrastructure for any abnormal behavior and mitigate any sort of network threats using a web application firewall.

Data Retention

In order to provide you with our services and offerings, to maintain and grow our business relationship, to meet our legal and contractual obligations, or to protect ourselves from any potential disputes and frauds, we retain your personal data for a period which is reasonably necessary (for example, as required by laws governing record-keeping, records, and bookkeeping, and in order to have proof and evidence regarding our relationship in the event that any dispute that may arises). Except this, we will not retain any of your personal information for any particular period. We will delete all your personal information from our system once these law obligations are finished. This may be done without notifying you. You can always contact us to ask about your personal information by sending an email to [email protected].

Data sharing with service providers, partners, public authorities, and payment providers.

We use many third-party service providers for hosting, storage, content delivery, backup, analytics, email marketing, billing system etc. Such service providers will have access to your information depending upon what sort of services that they provide and what level of details they need for processing and maintaining their service with us.

  • We may use payment processors,  and payment aggregators for managing our services and to manage our customers services. In such cases, We will not store any of the details about your credit card details on our servers, but certain data like your name, Tax ID, type of your subscription etc. will be stored in our system for activating specific feature set based on your subscription tiers, generate invoices, and to calculate taxes.
  • To our partners, who provide support for our business to manage listings, and locations. (for example, To provide customer support,  Provide Training, or help to enhance the security of our Site or Service etc.). All such process will be duly informed prior to any of such assignments, and you can request not share if its critical for your business.
  • To any competent law enforcement body, regulatory, government agency, court or other third party where we believe disclosure is necessary.
  • To any third-party service providers that we may require for any such features which is not available within our core platform. In such cases we will ask for consent from users who require that particular feature which can be opted out.
  • In case any public authorities/Government bodies ask us to submit the user information, we will do legal validity of any such request before proceeding with the submission. If we found the request valid, we will be submitting the minimum needed information to the authorities. 

Log Files

Clapup follows a standard procedure of using log files. These files log visitors when they visit websites. Most of the webservers logs the incoming server requests as a part of analysis of unusual traffic and mitigation of bot attacks. The information collected by log files include internet protocol (IP) addresses, browser type, date and time stamp, referring/exit pages, and possibly the number of clicks. These are not linked to any information that is personally identifiable. The purpose of the information is for analyzing traffic, unusual behaviors, administering the site, protecting the servers and applications from DDoS attacks.

Cookies and Tracking

Clapup uses ‘cookies’. These cookies are used to store information including visitor’s and user’s  preferences, and the pages on the website or applications that the user accessed or visited. The information is used to optimize the users’ experience by personalization.

Data Rights

We would like to make sure you are fully aware of all of your data protection rights under EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) or CCPA. Every user is entitled to the following:

The right to access – You have the right to request copies of your personal data. We may charge you a small fee for this service.

The right to rectification – You have the right to request that we correct any information you believe is inaccurate. You also have the right to request that we complete the information you believe is incomplete.

The right to erasure – You have the right to request that we erase your personal data, under certain conditions.

The right to restrict processing – You have the right to request that we restrict the processing of your personal data, under certain conditions.

The right to object to processing – You have the right to object to our processing of your personal data, under certain conditions.

The right to data portability – You have the right to request that we transfer the data that we have collected to another organization, or directly to you, under certain conditions.

Please note that such rights are not absolute. There are instances where applicable law or regulatory requirements allow or require us to refuse to provide some or all of the personal data that we hold about you. Roles

Many of the data protection laws including GDPR and CCPA distinguish between the roles of the providers in processing the data and controlling the data.

For our Cloud /SaaS offerings Clapup is solely responsible for all the data processing and storage of our customers data. So under any applicable law, we consider responsibility as data processor for our cloud SaaS solution. In such cases various service providers that we partner will be considered as sub processors.
